Nicolas “Nick” Charles, aged 67, passed away on September 20, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Nicolas was born on November 29, 1956 in Kenscoff, Haiti, where he spent his formative years. He relocated to New Jersey in 1983 and established a fulfilling and long lasting career at the Toys”R”Us Distribution Center in Flanders, where he worked until the company closed in 2018. He also drove medical transportation buses for elderly patients following his career at Toys”R”Us. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
In his free time, Nicolas enjoyed watching soccer, going to church, listening to old Haitian Kompa music, spending time with family and friends, and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his church community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His laughter was infectious, he was truly kind hearted, and always stood up for others and what he believed in, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Nicolas is survived by his wife, Leonne with whom he shares son Leonard Nicolas, his children from his previous marriage, Nirlande, Nickson, Stanley, and Virginia, his siblings Raynold, Lisbonne, and Reginald, his nephew Wilner, and other loving family and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
