Caswell Tomlinson, also known as Rocks, Rocky, and Cassie was born on September 20th, 1936 in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He was the son of the late T. Tomlinson and Clarice McLean.
Our father migrated to the United States of America in May 1997 and lived in Paterson, New Jersey. He was employed as a Custodian for 19 years at St. Joseph's Home and Mount St. Joseph Children's Center, Totowa, New Jersey. Rocks was the definition of a dedicated worker! He was never late and never called in sick! He loved his job. The way our father, Caswell, lived his life was inspirational to others. He was kind, loving, caring, disciplined, simple, but profound. His dedication and persistence allowed his values to drive every decision he made in life. He was a very family oriented man, who cared about our welfare.
Life is a journey one takes with so many different paths; where one path ends, another path begins. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Caswell Tomlinson. As the sun sets on his path, he entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024 at Englewood Health at the age of 88.
He was preceded in death by his common-law wife, Valdah Edwards in February 2008. Our father's warm presence, unconditional love, and dedication to his friends and family will forever be missed.
He leaves behind six children; Clive, Errol, Norma, Sandra, Corey, Sonia and her husband Terrence. He also leaves two step sons; Dennis, Paul, many grand and great grandchildren, and many friends and families.
