Rose Marie Littlejohn
 
 

Rose M. Littlejohn was born July 1, 1939, in Montclair, New Jersey to the late Dorsey W. Dunbar and Louise Sarah (Schuyler) Dunbar.

Rose graduated from East Orange High School at an early age. After graduating from Essex County School of Nursing. Rose went on to work at Newark Garden Convalescent Sanatorium where she met her soon-to-be husband Fred A. Littlejohn, they wed in 1961. Rose went on to become the head nurse of the emergency room at Martland Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Rose was loved and cared for at New Vista Nursing Home by a host of caregivers and friends who affectionately called her Grandma Littlejohn.

Rose was called home on Thursday October 17, 2024. She was welcomed at the pearly gates by her husband Fred A. Littlejohn as well as both her parents Dorsey and Louise Dunbar. Also welcoming her is her grandmother Elmyra E. Schuyler, sister Shirley A. Holloway, and her grandson Wayne W. Scott, Jr. along with a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Rose is survived by and leaves behind her daughter, Pamela Littlejohn Scott, son-in-law Wayne W. Scott, Sr., her daughter-in-love Wendy B. Thomas, granddaughters Shermicka Reed, Nafisah E. Scott, grandson Nasir Littlejohn Scott, niece Leslie M. Brieger along with Leslie’s children Deena, Jessica, Darren Aja and Nicholas Jr., cousins Carlotta Covington and Emily Roberts and sister-in-law Maeetta Littlejohn Adams.
